Back in the days, nurses and other medical staff all looked the same in their uniforms. Nurses were always in white while other medical staff wore colored scrubs. The color of the scrubs often referred to the area or department in the hospital. For example, in the hospital I used to go to, people assigned in the Radiology Department all wore purple scrub suits.
When I was younger, I was very uncomfortable of going to the hospital even for an ordinary check-up. The environment in the hospital seemed somehow scary. I think that seeing the nurses in all white made the atmosphere of the hospital seemed unfriendly and cold.
In the recent years, there have been changes in the way nurses and other medical staff dress up. Instead of the boring white scrubs, many nurses nowadays wear fashionable floral print scrub top and color coordinated scrub pants. You can now find many lovely scrubs online. In fact you can find many great value and discounted scrubs. I admire how the scrub suits have evolved. Gone are the boring scrubs. They have been replaced by stylish scrubs in different fabric designs.
