Chipmunks Fun

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you enjoy watching Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel in the movie theater? If you did, I'm sure you would be delighted to hear that the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel DVD is out. You can even buy the Blu-ray version or if you prefer, you can get the Digital Download. It's a great purchase because the Double DVD includes a bonus disc featuring The Squeak Along. Let the family enjoy more fun music. The whole family and even your friends can have double the fun.

I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel at the movie theater with my husband and son. We had our share of good laughs. The movie was funny, amusing and entertaining. It's a movie for the whole family.  Now that it's available on DVD, I can't wait to get my own copy so we can watch it all over again in the comfort of our home. Combine it with popcorn and it becomes a fun in-home movie experience. If you love the movie too, then you have the opportunity to buy it now.

I visited http://www.munkyourself.com and I tried to munk' myself! I enjoyed tweaking my Chipmunk character and my son had twice the fun. Give it a try.

I have always adored the Chipmunks. When I was young, my Dad gave me a Chipmunks cassette tape featuring different songs by the Chipmunks. It even has a Happy Birthday song by the Chipmunks. My younger brother and I enjoying listening to their cute songs. I told my son about my cassette tape and he was very interested. Cassette taps are now obsolete but the Chipmunks continue to remain in the spotlight.

Team Edward of Team Jacob?

I read New Moon around November of last year. It was also in November 2008 when I watched Twilight on the big screen. Now, a year later, I can't wait to watch New Moon.

Even my son knows how much I'm looking forward to the movie. He spotted the large movie standees at the mall and I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

Here are two of my favorite quotes in the book New Moon:

"I thought I’d explained it clearly before. Bella,
I can’t live in a world where you don’t exist."

~Edward, New Moon

"Who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf?"

~Jacob Black, New Moon

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?

I'm fond of Jacob but I've been dazzled by Edward from the start.
Team Edward!

Weekend Snapshot #83 - Pixar's Up

To join this weekly meme, click here.

My family and I enjoyed watching Up, Pixar's latest animated film. It's a funny and heartwarming movie about a 78-year-old balloon salesman named Carl Fredricksen. His strong love for his wife Ellie pushes him to go on an adventure of a lifetime. He ties every balloon he owns to his house and flies away to South America. His plans become complicated when he discovers Russell, an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer outside his home as it soars in the sky. That is only the start of the adventure. I recommend that you watch the movie and join Carl and Russell in their journey.

This movie has made it to my family's list of animation favorites. If you've already seen it, I'm sure it made your list too. Am I right?

To join this weekly meme, click here.

My son is looking forward to watching Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Hubby and I promised to take him to the movie theater soon. Yohan was glad to dropped by McDonald's to take advantage of the current Happy Meal featuring characters from the said movie.

Yohan's first three choices are Manny, Diego and Momma Dino. He also recently acquired Sid and Ruby (not included in the photo). He needs three more to complete the set.

Share something fun you did with the family recently.

Hubby and I watched Angels and Demons last Monday. We left Yohan at home because the movie wasn't suitable for kids. We promised to make it up to him by watching Night at the Museum 2 on our next visit to the mall.

Last Wednesday, hubby and I fulfilled that promise to Yohan. We had a fun family date at Alabang Town Center. We had some pizza, mojos and chicken for lunch. Yohan ordered a tall glass of Oreo milkshake.

Yohan got a free volleyball from Shakey's as part of their meal promo.

We watched Night at The Museum 2 after lunch. We all enjoyed the film. It was really funny. It's a perfect movie for kids and grown-ups.

I asked Jules and Yohan what do they like better, Night at the Museum 1 or 2. The boys said they like the sequel more than the first one. For me, the first one is still my favorite.

After the movie, we did a little shopping for Yohan. He has grown taller so we decided to buy him a new pair of jeans, 3 colored pants and a blue windbreaker. Here's a photo of our junior shopper. :)

What movie are you looking forward to?

My son is a big fan of the movie Night At The Museum. We have a DVD copy of it and I can't remember how many times I've watched the movie with him. Yohan is very excited to watch Night At The Museum 2. He is very curious about the new characters. I'm looking forward to watching it with him.

These are the cute characters from the movie Monsters vs Aliens. Yohan got them from McDonald's Happy Meal.

We watched the movie two weeks ago. It's a funny movie perfect for the whole family. The story is about a girl named Susan who comes into direct contact with a falling meteor. The meteor contains a substance that transforms Susan into a 47 foot giant woman on the day of her wedding. The government comes to take her away and she is placed in a secret holding facility with other monsters hidden by the government from the public eye. Susan is given a monster name, Ginormica. When Earth is threatened by an alien robot, the government puts the aliens in the front line to battle with the robots and the evil Gallaxhar.

  • Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. - Hugh Laurie

First Days of Summer

I realized I haven't updated my blog since Monday. I've taken the time off to enjoy the first few days of summer vacation. I'm sorry for my late visits. I'll be returning your visits soon.

What have I been doing lately?

  • Extending Zzz - I love summer. No need to wake up to the sound of the alarm clock. I can sleep late and wake up late as I please.
  • Watching DVDs - I enjoyed watching a few DVDs at home like Australia and Bride Wars.

  • Reading - I finally had time to read Breaking Dawn (the last book of the Twilight Saga).
"You and me. That’s the only thing that matters. The only thing you’re allowed to think about now. Do you hear me?"
Bella Cullen, Breaking Dawn, Chapter 4, p.69
  • Malling - The mall is a good place to go to escape the summer heat with the family. We've been to TriNoma last weekend where we had some delicious ice cream cakes. We also went to Glorietta recently where hubby and I bought Yohan a foldable mattress. We're gradually training Yohan to sleep on his own bed. He has been sleeping on his own (beside our bed) for three days now. So far so good.
  • Going to the Movie - I watched Race To Witch Mountain with my family. We enjoyed this Disney movie starring Dwayne Johnson, Anna Sophia Robb, Alexander Ludwig and Carla Gugino. I like Dwayne Johnson. He easily makes me laugh.
The movie was great but I certainly did not appreciate a group of teenagers coming late inside the theater and making irritating noises as they went to their seats; not to mention blocking our view. I think they were totally rude. Noisy movie goers is one of my pet peeves.

What's the recent movie that made you cry?

I recently watched the movie, Seven Pounds starring Will Smith. It's a really moving story about a man's journey towards redemption. He brings life-changing "gifts" to seven deserving strangers in an attempt to make up for the seven lives he has destroyed. The movie touched my heart and made me cry.

Movie Time :: The Perfect Man

It's a laid back Friday. My son is still on his school break until Wednesday next week. I have more free time on my hands. I just finished watching an old movie called The Perfect Man. I wonder if some of you remember this movie. It's about a teenage girl named Holly(played by Hillary Duff) who decides to play Cupid for her single mom named Jean (played by Heather Locklear) by coming up with an image of the perfect guy to sweep her off her feet. Jean is a forty something single mother to two daughters. She has been through many failed relationships and her way of dealing with heartbreak is moving her family to another place. Holly is tired of moving and feels she needs to take matters into her own hands when she witnessed her mom go through another painful relationship. Holly tries to uplift her mom's self-esteem by inventing a secret admirer. Holly even uses the uncle (played by Christ Noth) of her friend to play suitor to make her mom happy and excited. However, things turn against Holly when her plans nearly backfire. I don't want to give away the ending just in case you haven't seen it yet. It's a feel good movie that you might like to watch.

I realize that being a single parent is not easy. The Single Parent Chat Room is a venue for single parents to find friends and other single parents with same interests.

What's a nice freebie you received recently?

I got this nice magnetic bookmark when I watched Twilight at the cinema with my hubby last Wednesday night.

Follow up question:
Did you watch the movie already (or do you plan to)? You may scroll down to my previous post to read my thoughts about the movie.

Movie Time :: Twilight

Hubby and I watched the much anticipated Twilight movie last night. I expected more from the film but I still enjoyed it nevertheless.

I have to admit, I felt like a teenager with a big crush when I caught the first glimpse of Edward's face on the wide screen. I held my breath and squeezed my hubby's hand as Edward entered the cafeteria. He's definitely my kind of vampire. :) Don't worry I won't go any further for those who haven't seen the movie yet.

After the film, hubby and I had late dinner at a nearby cafe. We had the place all to ourselves so we were able to choose the TV program on the LCD. We were just in time to watch the Smallville episode. I ordered my favorite clubhouse sandwich while hubby had spareribs. I had a chocolate sundae for dessert.

Cozy cafe all to ourselves.

Hubby's Birthday Celebration

Thank you to everyone who left birthday greetings for my hubby. My family appreciates all your kind comments. We went out yesterday to celebrate hubby's special day. We had lunch at T.G.I. Friday's then we watched Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. We did some shopping too. I bought hubby a new badminton racket and hubby bought me new shoes. Exchange gift? Ha ha! Yohan insisted that we eat at McDonald's for dinner so he can get more Madagascar toys. Hubby and I couldn't say no. Here are some photos I would like to share with everyone.

Happy to see Optimus Prime outside the restaurant.

I think everyone loves to have more of this. :)

Yohan patiently waiting for his order.

Yohan's Chicken Fingers. Two guests joined us at our table. :)

Hubby's big and juicy burger.

My Chicken Mushroom Chicken.
We had to skip ordering tempting desserts because Yohan has cough.

Hubby and I will just watch Quantum of Solace next time.
