Jollibee's Brief Appearance in Glee

Our very own well-loved Pinoy fast food chain, Jollibee makes a cameo in Glee. Jollibee’s appearance on Glee was brief and yet the online world couldn't get enough of it.

The much talked about Jollibee appearance in Glee can be seen on the episode “Dream On” which was directed by Joss Whedon. Dream big --- that’s what Artie (Kevin McHale) did as he and other dancers strutted in a flash-mob style daydream sequence to the tune of “Safety Dance” (originally performed by Men Without Hats in the 80’s).

When Bryan Ryan (Neil Patrick Harris) asks Artie to write down his greatest dream, Artie wrote the single word "dancer." A person in wheelchair who dreams of becoming a dancer will touch anyone’s heart. It’s a really a heart-wrenching moment.

Viewers are used to seeing Artie confined to his wheelchair because of a spinal cord injury. It’s a pleasure to see Artie rise from his wheel chair and dance with such explosive energy in the dream sequence. The unadulterated Glee flash-mob dance is a captivating scene filled with vibrant moves.

Honestly, I thought Artie was a real wheelchair bound person. He portrays his role very convincingly.

While people are mesmerized by Artie’s great dance moves and flexible maneuvers, a familiar red sign peeks at the corner of the screen. Jollibee's brief international exposure in Glee even became a trending topic in Twitter.

Favorite TV Series

Let me share some of my favorite TV Series ...

1. Smallville - A series that features the adventures of a young Clark Kent in the town of Smallville, Kansas. It is during the years before he becomes Superman.

2. Grey's Anatomy - TV medical drama that highlights the everyday struggle of doctors to save lives of people. It also shows the personal lives of doctors. They are just like us, they also need comfort, friendship and love. "Real life only comes in shades of grey."

3. Prison Break - A TV series revolving around the plight of two brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. The latter has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit. The former is a genius who came up with an incredible plan to help him escape prison. They eventually escape and the federal inmate search progresses into a tapestry of dangerous adventures.

4. Heroes - A science fiction TV drama series featuring ordinary individuals from different parts of the world who discovers their superhuman abilities. Their paths eventually cross and they find themselves sharing a common goal to save the world.

Picking Up on Prison Break

I used to be so hooked on the TV series Prison Break. I could watch marathon Prison Break DVDs and set aside blogging for a whole day. My favorite character is Lincoln Burrows, brother of Michael Scofield. However, after a few series I got tired of the inmate search. That doesn't mean that I'm not curious about it. I'm actually thinking of picking up where I left and finding out what happens next.

Transformers Animated

Have you seen the of the new Transformers Animated? Jules bought Yohan a DVD of this new cartoon series. I think it will be shown on Cartoon Network. My hubby and son love it but personally, I prefer the classic Transformers.

Prison Break Addiction and Shrek 3

Sorry I have been absent for a few days. I just got hooked on Prison Break. I finished Seasons 1 and 2 in a matter of 4 days.

I borrowed Season 1 DVD from Jules' cousin. Jules noticed that I have been glued to the TV because of it. To my delight, he bought me my own copy of Prison Break, Seasons 1 and 2. The Season 2 ender was a major cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Longing for Season 3 ...

We watched Shrek 3 several days ago. We had a great time. Personally, I still like Shrek 1 & 2 better but Shrek 3 was still worth watching on the big screen because of Yohan. After the movie, we played a few games at the arcade and Yohan enjoyed a carousel ride.

McDonald's Happy Meal is featuring Shrek 3 and we bought Yohan 3 out of 8 characters. Look, even the dip of the Chicken McNuggets is green. I guess we'll be eating more at McDonald's until we complete the gang of Shrek 3.

Yohanism #5

I was watching the DVD of Heroes several weeks ago. I was so hooked that I was able to watch Episodes 1-17 in a single day.

Heroes is an American science fiction drama television series, created by Tim Kring, which premiered on NBC on September 25, 2006. The show tells the story of several people who "thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities" such as telepathy, time travel and flight. These people soon realize they have a role in preventing a catastrophe and saving mankind. source

One of the characters in this TV series is a Japanese named Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), "a programmer from Tokyo with the ability to manipulate the space-time continuum."

I was watching Heroes while Yohan was happily playing with his toy trains. He seemed oblivious to what I was watching until he heard Hiro Nakamura talking in Japanese, Yohan turned to me to say ...

"Mommy, he is talking rubbish!"

It was so funny but I didn't laugh in front of him. I explained to him that he was not talking rubbish but he was talking in a different language called Japanese. My three year old son's face showed he wasn't convinced at all. ha! ha!

Better than Strawberries N' Cream

I found my much coveted Grey's Anatomy Season 3 dvd. It's just 7 episodes but that's enough to make me truly happy. I actually forgot about blogging because of this. I have to say, it's 100x better than strawberries n' cream. I finished watching those exciting episodes and I'm longing for more.

Hooked on Grey's Anatomy

I had no internet access for almost a week. It was almost unbearable! I reported the problem to Digitel last Wednesday but due to the storm, it took a while before the problem was fixed. The port problem (something like that) was solved earlier this afternoon. What a relief! I feel like rejoicing. ha! ha!

While sinking in the throes of boredom, I decided to borrow some DVDs from Jules' sister. I heard so much about Grey's Anatomy that I thought it was a perfect time to watch it. Chona lent me her copy of Season 1 & 2.

I knew I was hooked the moment I watched the first episode. I enjoyed watching every single episode and so did Jules. We've been sleeping very late watching Grey's Anatomy. We love the drama, comedy and love stories injected in every episode. It's remarkably interesting!

She and fellow first year interns Izzie Stevens, George O' Malley and Christina Yang are embarking in a world where on the job training can be a matter of life and death while they try to balance the ups and downs of their own personal lives. We finished watching Grey's Anantomy Season 2 ender and I felt really sad. I want to watch more but I guess I have to wait for Season 3 to be aired here.

On a brighter perspective, my internet access is back to normal! Yipee! Time to rejoice! At least I can now surf about what's new with my favorite characters.

By the way, I'm in love ... with McSteamy (*wink*).
