Enjoying Victory, Accepting Loss

Yohan and his cousin, Tisha playing Wall-E board game.

When Yohan was younger, he always became upset whenever he lost in a game. He used to cry when he didn't end up as the winner of a game. I told him that he shouldn't be upset because in every game there are always a winner and non-winners. I told him that whenever possible he should shake the hand of the winner and say, "Congratulations!" However if he won, he should still make an effort to shake hands with the others and say something like, "It was a good game. Better luck next time."

I'm happy to say that over the years, Yohan has learned to enjoy victory and accept loss. He's now five years old and he has learned the importance of good sportsmanship.
