Making Homemade Beverage

What is your favorite cocktail?

Mine is frozen margarita. It's been my favorite cocktail drink since college. I just love the smooth taste of margarita. It's easy to make your own frozen margarita. Here's how...

Ingredients you need:

- 2 oz tequila
- juice of one lime
- 1 oz triple sec
- 1 cup crushed ice
- salt
- lime wedge

Rub the rim of cocktail glass with lime and dip it into salt to coat the rim. Pour the tequila, lime juice, triple sec and ice in a blender. Blend well then pour into the cocktail glass. Put a lime wedge as garnish.

Have you ever thought of making your own alcoholic beverage, like beer and wine, at home?

Making your own alcoholic drink may sound challenging but some people enjoy making their own homebrew. There are homebrew starter kits that you can avail to produce your own wine. Equipment such as this one can be used several times. Most ingredient packs can produce more than 6 bottles of wine.

Just imagine how impressed your family and friends will be if you serve them wine that you personally made. Homebrew can also be a wonderful gift that you can give to family and friends during special occasions.

Jollibee Hug & Share Plush Toy

Last year hubby got Yohan the Jollibee Music Maker (videoke and mp3 amplifier). Today I surprised Yohan with a limited-edition Jollibee Hug & Share plush toy. It holds a heart that plays Jollibee’s 30th anniversary theme song when pressed. You can avail of this cute collectible at any Jollibee store nationwide. Each toy costs P300 and part of the proceeds will go to the "Jollibee MaAga ang Pasko" project.

Fun Family Activities

The common components of family gatherings are great food, wonderful company and fun activities.

What activities do you enjoy doing during family gatherings?

Aside from eating and chatting, here are some of our favorite family activities ...

Playing Billiard
s - My brother-in-law has his own billiard table at his house. Whenever he hosts family gatherings at his place, he brings out the Pool Cues for the billiard games. Yohan enjoys watching his Dad and uncles play billiards. He loves helping them set up the balls in the rack.

Videoke - Many members in the family love singing that's why videoke has become a favorite past time. Yohan loves singing too. His favorite videoke song is I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing.

Card Games - My hubby and his cousins enjoy different kinds of card games. My brother-in-law even had a poker table customized for their card games.

Watching DVDs - Watching movies is another fun activity especially when there's popcorn. :)

Kiddie Indoor Games - The kids enjoy variety of indoor games like playing PSP, PlayStation and board games. I usually bring some books, activity books, puzzles and toys for Yohan whenever we go to family gatherings.

Kiddie Outdoor Games - The kids love biking, karting, playing volleyball and basketball.

Tee Ball + Popcorn = Fun

Last Sunday afternoon, we took advantage of the lovely weather by playing Tee Ball (ball is placed on an adjustable tee at a suitable height for the batter to strike) in our garden. In between games, we had some popcorn and juice. Simple things can be so much fun.

How To Clean Blinds

Blinds are easy to clean but remember to apply proper cleaning depending on the type of blinds you have. Here are some tips about cleaning Horizontal Blinds and Vertical Blinds made from different materials.

Vinyl - The most common type of blinds is made of vinyl. Vinyl is easy to clean because you can simply use a soft, clean cloth to wipe off the dust. You can also use a sponge and mild cleaning agent if desired.

Wood - Be extra careful with wooden blinds. Use soft cloth to dust off accumulated dust. Do not use strong cleaning agents because it might scrape off wooden surface.

Fabric - There are many beautiful fabric shades in the market today. You can choose any fabric to match or accent your room decor. I even saw fabrics with cute designs that would be great for a child's room. Fabric shades are best cleaned using a vacuum cleaner. You can also use a damp cloth dipped in lukewarm water. In case of stains, you can spot clean the area using a very mild cleaning agent.

Bamboo – This is the type of blinds we have at in our TV room. You can use a damp terry cloth and mild cleaning agent to scrub the bamboo shades. If possible bring it down for proper scrubbing. Let it air dry.

Photo Hunt :: Family

PSHunt
Come and join the hunt here

This photo of my family was taken last year, just before attending the wedding of my SIL. Jules and Yohan are wearing Barong Tagalog, Filipino embroidered formal garment.

Life may not always be smooth sailing but my family keeps me strong, inspired and grounded. I feel blessed to have a loving family.

A family in harmony will prosper in everything.

Aloha Friday #45

Rules: Post any question on your blog on a Friday, share your answer and sign Kailani's Mr. Linky. Then have fun answering the questions of fellow participants by visiting their blogs.

When you were young, did you celebrate United Nations Day in school? If you did, what was your favorite costume?

I remember in grade school, we always celebrated U.N. Day in school by wearing traditional clothes from any country. My favorite was the Japanese Kimono. I loved the pretty kimono, the pillow on the back and the wooden slippers. Too bad, I couldn't find any photo of me wearing the kimono.
