Photo Hunt :: Colorful

PSHunt
Come and join

My son had a fun 7th birthday celebration in school a few weeks ago. My husband and I brought some food for the kids and gave each one a personalized birthday token. In lieu of the usual loot bags filled with candies and chocolates, we gave them these colorful miniature pots with wooden animal clips. We had the kids' names printed to give the giveaways a nice touch.

Kimono Doll Pens

I love my Kimono Doll pens. I got them for only P19.75 each at Clipper. I was smitten by their cute little faces and chinky eyes. Now they even inspired me to make a haiku ...

Wind touches her hair
As refreshing as sunlight
Love that breezy smile

Personalized M&M's

Some of you showed interest about the Personalized M&M's I shared on my earlier post. I found out that those birthday souvenirs were ordered from the States. I think it's so cool that you can personalize M&M's with your own words, faces and colors. They are great for party favors.

You can order your own Personalized M&M's on this site. Below is a screen shot of the site where you can have your favorite M&M's custom printed as desired.

I love how Crayola name their crayons. Take this one for instance ...

I think Tropical Rain Forest is a cool way to name a particular shade of green. Crayola even has a crayon called Macaroni and Cheese. :) The miniature guy in the photo is Ben 10 just in case you're wondering.

Are you good at remembering directions or routes?

To tell you the truth, I'm terrible at remembering directions. I'm also a bad navigator. I guess I don't pay much attention on routes. How about you?

Let me share this cute, decorative compass I recently bought. It has a wooden base. Can you tell what animal shape it is? **squeak! squeak!** Ha ha!

I bought these cute wooden paper clips at the mall last weekend. Each cute animal character is hand painted. I love the lion. What's your favorite?

Fab Holiday Finds (Silver) :: Purse n' Hook

Please click here to join Fab Holiday Finds at The Filipino Mom Blog.

My Silver Fab Holiday Find for this week is this very useful Purse n' Hook. This cool accessory comes with a carrying pouch. Actually my MIL gave me this elephant purse n' hook but I decided to feature it as my Fab Holiday Find because I saw a lot of these at the mall. You can buy one for P280.00 (Alabang Town Center price). It's a perfect gift for Christmas.

This Purse n' Hook is a lovely and useful accessory that keeps your purse/handbag safe and clean by letting it hang from the table top rather than on the floor. The silver elephant (other designs available) rests on the table top and the hook balances your purse/handbag below. I've tried it on my own bag and it really works ...

I Love Sanrio

edited: 10:13 a.m.

I have always been fond of Sanrio items since I was a young girl. My favorite Sanrio characters are Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars and Tiny Poem. I don't know why Tiny Poem didn't become as popular as the others. She somehow faded through the years.

Here are some Hello Kitty stuff I got in the recent years from Happy Meal. :) See the small My Melody and Hello Kitty? I got them from a thrift shop last week. Simple pleasures of the heart.

I'm editing this post to add a picture of Tiny Poem. I realized that some of you may not be familiar with her.

Tiny Poem loves to ride on the wind and play in green alpine meadows. Dandelions are her favorite flower, and Daichan is her beau. source

Cool Twistable Crayons

I love the Twistable crayons by Crayola and so does my 4-yr old son, Yohan. He finds them easier to use on his coloring book and homework compared to his regular crayons. They are light, slim and easy to hold. The point of the twistable crayons can be conveniently adjusted. The plastic barrels protect them from breaking. Twistable crayons doesn't have labels to peel and there is no sharpening involved.

Handy USB Mouse

I bought this USB mouse a week ago for my laptop. It has a retractable cord and it's smaller than the usual mouse making it very handy. I used it for the first time today. I'm getting a little used to the touch pad of my laptop but a mouse is still easier to use. The great thing about this optical mouse is its price. It's only P180 or roughly $4. I think it's a great buy.

Photo Hunt :: Practical

PSHunt
Come and join the hunt here.

This week's theme is Practical. My son loves listening to stories that's why I always buy him different kinds of story books. He does not know how to read yet but he loves looking at pictures and drawings.

Books can be quite expensive so I enjoy going to book sales where I can purchase books at much lower cost. These books are practical because they are 50-70% cheaper than those books bought at regular bookstores.

Most of these books are for my son, Yohan but I was also able to buy two books for my niece and a cook book for my husband. Imagine all these books for just a little over P200.00 (more or less $5.00).

Growing a "Pet"

Yohan and I have been a little busy growing our own pets. See for yourselves ...

Day 1 (am) - I bought this Growing Pet egg at the mall for Yohan. I saw it near the cashier. I read the instructions and got curious so I bought one.

Day 1 (pm) - I helped Yohan put the egg in a bowl of water. According to the instructions, we have to wait for 12 to 24 hours for the egg to break.

Day 2 (am) - The first thing that Yohan said when he opened his eyes the following day was, "Did the egg hatch already?" So we went to check, and there was a head peeking out of the egg. It was starting to hatch.

Yohan was very egg-cited and asked if he could hold it for a while. I said yes as long as he promised to put it back again in the water so it could continue to hatch. I took Yohan to school and left the egg at home.

Day 2 (pm) - When we got home from the school, it was almost fully hatched but not quite so left it alone and took a nap. After a refreshing sleep, Yohan and I went to check it again and the chick was already waiting for us. Yehey! Yohan christened this chick Henny.

Day 3 (am) - Early this morning, we let Henny join Chickee (sorry we weren't able to document Chickee's coming out.) Notice that they are shorter than the container/bowl. We left the two chicks to get acquainted and went to school.

Day 3 (pm) - When we got home, Yohan went to say hi to his pets and to his surprise, they grew taller and a little plump. They are now taller than the container/bowl.

Watch out for more updates on Henny (right) and Chickee (left).
