Please pardon the poor quality of this photo. This picture was taken when I was in Grade 2. I had long, straight black hair but I would always ask my yaya (nanny) to braid my hair the night before so I could remove it the following day to have instant curls. This was also a time when Kung Fu shoes and knee high socks were in fashion. ha!ha!

I'll be accompanying my mother-in-law at the doctor for a check-up later today so I'll be a little late on my visits. Take care!

Yohanism #7

This happened this morning. Yohan was watching Winnie the Pooh on DVD when he told me ...

Yohan: Mommy, I want to watch Spiderman.
Me: Ok, wait. (I got the DVD of Spiderman 2 and replaced the Winnie the Pooh DVD).
Yohan: No, at the movie house. I like popcorn and Sprite.

ha!ha! I guess my son wants to watch Spiderman 3. I told him we'll watch it some time next week. I heard about the long lines at movie theatres for the Spiderman3 movie. I will let the hype tone down a little and perhaps next week would be more ideal for my son to watch it.

Even Jollibee (McDonald's counterpart in the Philippines) have Spiderman toys bundled with their kiddie meals. Yohan completed all four in a single visit. :)

Just Because Package

I went to pick up a small package a few weeks ago and I was delighted to find the following ... nice shirts and some caps for my son, Yohan. The package came from my parents. It's a Just Because package. I'm so lucky to have thoughtful parents.

Funny, how I would sometimes say to my husband, I'll go shopping for Yohan's clothes upstairs. Why you may ask upstairs? I have a box full of Yohan's new clothes from my parents and brother. They would often send me clothes several sizes bigger and I would keep them in that box until Yohan can use them. The biggest set of clothes in that box is for a 12-yr old ... and Yohan is just 3 years old right now. :) The box contains assorted t-shirts, sweaters, polo shirts, pants and caps.

I also got these evening bags as an early Mother's Day present. My mom found out I didn't have a bag to match my new dress so she sent me these. I should be sending her a Mother's Day gift and not the other way around. I made a personalized card for her for Mother's Day.

Sofia Angela

Here's a project I made for our niece and Jules' god daughter Sofia Angela.

Darlene (Sofia's mom) told me that she really wanted Jules to be one of the godparents of Sofia because she was so touched by Jules' affection for her. She recounts a particular day when Jules' who just came from visiting the farm, was so excited to see Sofia. He seemed very tired but he hurriedly went to wash and freshen up before he cuddled her.

Pizza and Margarita

What perfect way to take advantage of the non-working holiday (May 1 - Labor Day) but to go out and have some fun? It was a lovely evening spent with Jules' cousins. Mitzi, who is here on an extended vacation is due to go back to the States soon and she invited us to have dinner at Don Henrico's. We had two humongous pizza, 4 different kinds of pasta, salad, giant basket of buffalo wings and bottomless iced tea and soda. One pizza was good enough for all of us so we had the other pizza divided into four take-out boxes. After dinner, all of us went to a nearby bar to have a couple of drinks and continue the fun conversation. I ordered my soul drink, margarita.

1. I learned how to solve a Sudoku puzzle last Easter and I've been hooked ever since.

2. I don't like the idea of having my fortune told because I'm scared of hearing negative things about my future.

3. I don't know how to swim.

4. I want to sell our house and move back to Manila.

5. I regret giving away my wide collection of dolls and stuffed toys when I was in College. I wished I kept some of the memorable ones.

6. I enrolled in two well-known driving schools and finished both programs but I don't drive. I have a driver's license I don't use.
