Thank you to everyone who dropped by while I was away this weekend. My family had a great time at the 12th PIHABF (Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta) held at Clark, Pampanga. It was our first time to witness such a grand aviation sports event. We stayed at Clark for two days, Feb. 9-10, 2008 (Sat. & Sun).

The hot air balloons did not fly on Feb. 9 (Sat.) due to strong winds. Some hot air balloons were able to perform a cold inflation but for safety purposes did not go up on the air anymore. I'm sure many were disappointed on that day but the organizers could not do anything about the wind conditions. We watched the rest of the awesome aviation show such as skydiving, paragliding, choreographed kite flying, aerobatic display and other air exhibitions. We failed to see the hot Air Balloon Night Glow that night because the wind conditions remained the same until the evening. Nevertheless, my family had a marvelous time on the first day especially my son, Yohan. We stayed at Europhil Int'l Hotel just outside Clark.

We woke up very early on Sunday morning and went back to Clark Airfield to watch the Hot Air Balloon Flight. Thankfully, the weather was more cooperative that day and everything went on smoothly. It was breathtaking watching the beautiful Hot Air Balloons go up to the air.

Here are some photos taken during the fun-filled weekend.

The Philippine Flag was majestically brought down by a sky jumper as the crowd sang the Philippine National Anthem.

Yohan exploring the cool exhibit.

Yohan posing with the brave Philippine soldiers.

Appreciating mighty aircrafts up close.

Having fun with our Hot Air Balloon souvenirs and taking advantage of parachute display.
