Back To School

Yohan was supposed to go back to school last Monday but the school announced the postponement of classes as a precautionary measure against A(H1N1) virus. It gave students, who just got home from their overseas vacation, time to take self quarantine.

Classes opened today. It's a brand new school year. My son is now in Prep. Amazing how time flies. It's ironic, because I was the one who felt a wave of separation anxiety when Yohan boarded the school service this morning. I was not worried because yaya was with him but I still had a heavy feeling when he left. The house was suddenly dull, quiet and lonely. I realized how much I missed my son while he was in school. The moment Yohan got home, the house became alive again.

Students are not yet required to wear school uniform this week so I wasn't able to take a photo. I'll take a picture of him next week wearing his uniform.

  1. My sister had 2 days of classes then it was cancelled. This week, someone was positive for the virus at their school so again, classes cancelled. It's a little bit sad actually.

Gday Racheal. Pleased to see Yohan is well enough to return to school.
We had a few schools closed in Melbourne for a week due to swine Flu. Thankfully it hasnt made it to the country yet..

It's good that the schools are taking precautions to stem the spread of H1N1 virus. I would be less worried knowing the school is taking action.

I can imagine how empty it suddenly felt. But think of it nalang as your chance for your "me" time.

It's true, moms like us get really affected seeing our kids grow so fast. Right now, I stay for 3 hours at my son's school. During his summer class, I stayed for 2 hours for the whole five weeks. I wonder how it will be when he gets a little older.

I cannot believe that this virus is still going around. I respect the school for taking precautionary measures.
