Tisha's Birthday

We had an eventful and fun weekend. We attended two special birthday parties. The first was the birthday celebration of my niece and goddaughter, Tisha. She turned 9 years old last Saturday, May 3.

Carbonara, BBQ, Oreo cheesecake, pichi pichi (native delicacy made of cassava and coated with grated coconut.)

Palabok (Rice noodles with thick golden shrimp sauce topped with shrimp, squid, crushed pork rind, thin pieces of smoked fish, some vegetables and hard boiled eggs).

The birthday celebrant, Tisha graciously let Yohan have a turn blowing the candle on her second birthday cake.

It was not Yohan's birthday but he received this cool gift (Iron Man shirt) from his Tito Keats and Tita Ves. He also received an Iron Man wallet.

Chirsten's Birthday

The following day, Sunday, we attended the 1st birthday party of Chirsten, daughter of Jules' badminton buddy. Yohan had a wonderful time at the grand party.

Enjoying the fun Bubble Show.

Yohan's turn to be inside the giant bubble.

Movie Time
(don't worry, no spoilers)

After the party, we watched the movie, Iron Man. I was not familiar with the comic book superhero Iron Man so I had no idea what Tony Stark's image was like. That's why at first I was not too fond of the idea of Robert Downy Jr. playing a superhero. Don't get me wrong, I like Robert Downy Jr. I watched many of his movies but I just didn't think of him as the superhero type. After watching the movie, I had a change of heart. Robert Downy Jr. played the role of Tony Stark very well. We really enjoyed the movie.

"The best and worst moments of Robert's life have been in the public eye. He had to find an inner balance to overcome obstacles that went far beyond his career. That's Tony Stark." - Director Jon Favreau
